25 Years of James “Dougie” Shaw at J-TEQ!

A massive congratulations to James (Dougie) Shaw on reaching an incredible 25 years of service at J-TEQ EMS Solutions Ltd.!

Dougie started back in March 2000 as Production Manager when J-TEQ was still MSC (Scotland) Ltd. Over the years, he’s worn many hats (probably more than he’d like to admit), climbing from Production Manager to General Manager/Director, and in 2014, he made the ultimate move—buying the company in a Management Buy-Out from Avnet. This wasn’t just a business decision; it was about securing the company’s future, ensuring continuity, and keeping the J-TEQ family together.

Under Dougie’s leadership, J-TEQ has grown and thrived, but if you ask him, he’ll say it’s all down to the great team around him. While that’s true, there’s no doubt he’s left his mark on the company—just like he used to leave his mark on opponents' legs during his younger footballing days where he made John Greig look tame!

In recent years, Dougie has stepped back from the day-to-day running of the business, but always thinking ahead, he secured J-TEQ’s future by transitioning to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). His goal? Ensuring J-TEQ continues to grow, provide local jobs, and keep that ‘family’ feel that means so much to him.

Beyond work, Dougie has a few well-known passions—his impressive collection of fast cars, fine malt whisky, and spending time with his family.

He denies moonlighting as a Kenny Rogers tribute act, but we’re not convinced… keep an eye out for him on tour soon!
